Lussier Family Heritage Center is excited to co-host the North American Association of Environmental Education's Community Guidelines for Excellence in Environmental Education Train the Trainer Workshop with Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education (WAEE) . Come meet Professor Becca Franzen from UW- Steven's Point and DPI's Victoria Rydberg - Nania to learn more about how to incorporate best practices of environmental education in a community setting.
MORNING: INCREASING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
From 9-11:30 we will explore five key characteristics of successfully engaging communities in environmental education. This deep dive into the NAAEE Guidelines for Excellence for Community Engagement will help anyone who works with youth or adults, on behalf of an organization, or as an individual, design programs that strengthen the interwoven strands of environment and community.
Lunch will be provided for all participants from 11:30 - 12:00.
AFTERNOON: BUILDING CAPACITY
From 12:00 – 3:00 learn how you can bring these best practices into professional development with educators to create more inclusive environments that support effective community partnerships and collaborations. If you have not previously participated in a NAAEE guidelines training workshop, you need to attend the morning session. If you have previously attended a guidelines training, you can register just for the afternoon.
Cost: $25
Thanks to a grant from NAAEE, we are able to provide scholarships to reduce participant cost to $10. If you are interested in a scholarship, please complete this form before registering to receive a scholarship code by email.
