Event Description

You may have been hearing a lot about MyImpact, the volunteer portal that the Dane County Parks Volunteer program rolled out last year. MyImpact is hosted by the volunteer management software Better Impact, and we're transitioning towards using this to track all volunteer data including hours, contact info, allergies and medical conditions, schedules/sign ups, certifications, interests, and more!

We have a thriving volunteer program that continues to grow, which is amazing! As we grow, we need to be able to streamline our systems. We need all volunteers to have active accounts in MyImpact and to know how to use those for the bare minimum functions. Many of you will wish to learn about the more advanced functions. 

Who: Any active volunteer with Dane County Parks who has some level of technological skill and is comfortable having 2 windows open - Zoom and MyImpact - and moving between the two in order to participate fully.

What to know: This training is designed to be a full overview of all the most basic and necessary functions of DCP’s new volunteer portal (MyImpact) for the average volunteer. We will demonstrate how to navigate through the portal including how to view and sign up for shifts, how to log independent hours, and how to update your personal information. We will likely not get into more advanced functions of MyImpact, though there will be time for additional questions at the end. This is a participatory training! We will expect all participants to have their camera ON and to be following along on their own device. If you are someone who would benefit from a training in person due to lack of comfort with technology, consider attending our in-person training in the afternoon.
