Yahara Pride Farms - Farmer Twilight Meeting

Join us for a Poker Run from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. The poker run will take place in an alfalfa field located on Capital View Rd, Middleton, just south of the Capital View and Schneider Rd intersection - watch for field day signs. Check out five different pieces of equipment in the field, including 2 Zimmerman Manufacturing LDMI implements, Fendt Momentum 24-row no-till planter, Landoll 40 ft no-till drill, and a drone capable of seeding cover crops and applying spray applications. Participants will receive a playing card when they visit each implement and have the opportunity to test their luck— the best poker hand will win a cash prize. 

Twilight Meeting at the shop from 6:00 to 8:00 PM - dinner provided.

- Tour the Ziegler Farm Shop and get a close-up look at practical innovation.

- Jeff Margie from Zimmerman Manufacturing will demonstrate a manure applicator and lead a field demonstration.

- A representative from Insight FS will discuss soil compaction.

- Kim Meyer from Dane County LWRD will provide updates on Dane Demo Farms and share information about the 2024 Yahara Pride Farms Phosphorus Reduction Report.

The goal of these activities is to promote the adoption of conservation practices aimed at reducing phosphorus runoff within the Yahara Watershed.
