Dane County Executive Joe Parisi released his proposed 2021 budget last week, and now the County Board and its committees will take it up and finalize it.
Over the course of the next several weeks the County Board’s standing committees will hear from department heads on their budget requests, gather input from members of the public, and make recommendations on budget amendments to the Board’s Personnel and Finance Committee.

There are also opportunities for the public to register to speak at the scheduled committee meetings, as well as at a public hearing on the budget before the full County Board on October 21 at 6:00pm.
"We want to hear from members of the public – the next year is going to be a challenging year for everyone, we need to hear what the priorities are of the people that make up Dane County," said County Board Chair Analiese Eicher.
To help clarify the budget process for members of the public, the County Board created a budget overview video last year, it can be found here: https://youtu.be/HuRSQVyLPn8
