Lake Monona Death Investigation

Madison, WI.  – On October 22^nd, 2025 at approximately 12:25p.m. Dane County Sheriff’s deputies were notified that a body was observed in the water near the shore on the north side of Lake Monona. Both Madison Police and Fire assisted the Sheriff’s Office with recovering the body of a 56-year-old Madison man. The male was pronounced deceased on scene by the medical examiner.

 

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this incident. The identity of the male recovered will be released by the medical examiner’s office pending notification of next of kin.
