Beltline Traffic Stop

At 2:02 this morning, a Waunakee woman was stopped by a Dane County Sheriff’s deputy for speeding on the Beltline at University Avenue. The driver, Sawncia R. Loy, 22, was traveling at 112 mph.
Ms. Loy exhibited signs of impairment and was administered field sobriety tests, which she failed. Deputies also found .22 grams of THC in her vehicle. She was cited for OWI – 1st offense, along with additional traffic violations.
As we enter the summer months, traffic safety will be a top priority for the Dane County Sheriff’s Office. Thanks to traffic grants from the WI Department of Transportation, drivers should expect increased traffic enforcement across Dane County. Let’s work together to prevent crashes and save lives.
