To help commemorate Dane County's 175th Anniversary this year, a new exhibit highlighting Dane County history and culture has been unveiled at the Dane County Regional Airport.

"People from around the country and the world get their first impression of Dane County at our beautiful airport," said Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk. "This exhibit allows them to see that this vibrant, progressive community has deep roots from which it grows and prospers."

Just as art displays have become common at many airports around the country, Airport Director Bradley Livingston believes there is a place for a local history and culture exhibit at the Dane County Regional Airport.

"Airports serve as the gateway to the community," Livingston said. "This exhibit allows people from all over the globe to learn about our past, our distinctive communities, and several notable individuals who call Dane County home. It should also entice them to find out more about Dane County."

The history and culture kiosk is located inside door two of the airport's terminal. New panels will be displayed throughout the year.

The history and culture exhibit was made possible through the assistance of the Dane County Historical Society, the UW-Madison Tandem Press, the Dane County 175th Anniversary Celebration Planning Committee and Signs by Tomorrow.
