Five New Deputies Join Sheriff’s Office

On the morning of Tuesday, May 26th, Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney will swear in five new deputies. The ceremony will take place at 9:00 am on the second floor of the Public Safety Building located at 115 W. Doty Street. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office proudly welcomes: · Tracy Becker, age 30 of Madison, WI · Nathan Katzenmeyer, age 33 of Evansville, WI · Joseph Raymond, age 30 of Platteville, WI · Matthew Schirmacher, age 22 of McFarland, WI · Ronald Stage, age 27 of Geneseo, IL This day marks the start of a 23-week training program the new deputies will receive before they fill their first work assignment in the Dane County Jail. The training includes a thirteen-week basic law enforcement academy and a four-week jail officer academy. They will serve a two-year probationary period. Each deputy is filling an existing vacancy. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office continually recruits for deputy and civilian positions to fill vacancies as they occur. Applications can be found online at www.danesheriff.com.
