An Inmate of the Dane County Jail is AWOL

Madison, WI.  July 14, 2009 – Inmate Jennifer L. Moritz, has been declared AWOL from the Dane County Jail. At the time Moritz went AWOL, she was serving a nine-month probation sentence with Huber for Forgery.

Moritz, who was participating in the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Custody Alternative Monitoring Program, was approved to attend an employment group at Madison Urban Ministries at 2:00pm. At approximately, 2:31 pm, deputies received a strap alert indicating Moritz’ electronic monitoring bracelet had been tampered with. They immediately responded to Moritz’ last known location at the corner of Bedford Street and West Washington Avenue where her bracelet was recovered in the storm drain.  

Moritz is described as a thirty-two year old Caucasian female, 5’04” tall and weighing 180 pounds.  She has brown hair and green eyes.  She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a pink tank top, a red hoodie sweatshirt, and tan sandals.

Anyone with information regarding Moritz’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Dane County Communications Center at (608) 255-2345. Moritz has ties to the Pheasant Ridge Trail area.
