County Executive to Host Public Hearings on 2011 County Budget

Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk will hold her annual listening session on the upcoming county budget at the Black Earth Village Hall on Wednesday, September 8th from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.  The Black Earth Village Hall is located at 1210 Mills Street in Black Earth.

“As always my goals in this budget are to limit property taxes and maintain the county services that people depend upon - - human services and public safety,” Falk said.  “I welcome suggestions, questions, or to hear the priorities from anyone who wants to attend this hearing.”

Falk’s annual budget hearing is in addition to a pair of hearings she will co-host with the County Board next week regarding the 2011 budget proposed by the Dane County Human Services Department.  Those hearings are on Tuesday, August 31st and Wednesday September 1st starting at 6:00 p.m.  Both will be held at the Exhibition Hall of the Alliant Energy Center.

Falk will deliver her proposed 2011 Dane County budget to the County Board on October 1st.

During her time as County Executive, Falk has hosted listening sessions on the county budget in different communities each year.  Past sessions have been held in Oregon, DeForest, Monona, Mount Horeb, Blooming Grove, Middleton, McFarland, Sun Prairie, Stoughton, Waunakee, Monona, and Cottage Grove.
