Airport Offers Tips For Smooth Spring Break Travel
Relax! Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA) Makes Vacation Travel A Breeze

Madison, WI –  As the spring travel season ramps up at the Dane County Regional Airport, here are a few tips on how to make the start of your trip a breeze!

With 12 non-stop destinations and over 90 arrivals and departures per day to connections around the globe, be sure to allow extra time before your flight. If you park in one of DCRA’s parking lots, plan for the time it takes to find a spot to park and to walk to the terminal. Ticketing and security lines may be longer than usual, so plan accordingly.

Save time by printing your boarding pass before you leave for the airport and be sure to check if your flight is canceled or delayed to avoid an unnecessary trip.

The Transportation Security Administration Website has answers to these and many more questions about traveling with food or gifts at www.tsa.gov.

Travel light. Lugging a heavy suitcase(s), is very difficult and planes are usually crowded – so plan to check your bag to avoid the hassle.

If you are traveling with oversized items such as golf clubs, water skis, or camping gear, check with your airline ahead of time regarding their requirements. Make sure that your items are securely padded and packed before you arrive at the airport.

Avoid packing snacks and bottled water, which add bulk to your already tight carry-on.  The Dane County Regional Airport has restaurants and grab-and-go food options.
