Icy Conditions Predicted

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the majority of Southern Wisconsin until 3:00am Monday morning.  The National Weather Service is predicting the afternoon sleet and snow with light freezing rain will change to a mix of rain and freezing rain late afternoon / early evening.  The rail will eventually taper off over night.

The rain and freezing rain combined with below freezing surface temperatures will result in icy conditions with ice accumulations.

Icy conditions are expected Monday morning; plan to take extra time for tomorrow’s commute.  While Dane County will be salting roads as conditions allow, people should expect sidewalks and driveways to be iced as well.  People are urged to not only to take extra care behind the wheel of their vehicle, but also in getting to and from your vehicle or the bus stop tomorrow.

If driving, SLOW DOWN and allow for extra distance in front of your vehicle!  Vehicle stopping distances should not exceed the distance to the vehicle in front of you!  Be wary of icy conditions on the roadways as well as sidewalks and trails!  Slow down and avoid driving distractions such as cell phones.  Give driving your full attention!
