The Dane County Highway & Transportation Department announced today that County Road MM,  "Janesville Street, " located in the Village of Oregon, will be reconstructed as part of a cooperative project between the Village and Dane County.  In addition, the Village of Oregon will be replacing a water main during construction.

The road project includes the following items:  removal of the existing concrete pavement and construction of a new asphaltic pavement.  Construction will be phased and traffic will be controlled by Stop Signs for the duration of the construction.

Phase 1:  The two existing westbound lanes will be closed to traffic starting July 6th, and both eastbound and westbound traffic will be shifted into the existing eastbound lanes.  During this phase, Dane County will remove the westbound concrete pavement, the contractor will replace the water main, and a new asphalt pavement binder will be constructed. This phase is expected to last through the 1st week in August.

Phase 2:  Traffic will be shifted to the two newly constructed westbound lanes, and the Wolfe Street intersection will be closed to all traffic, while the concrete pavement is removed.  A detour will be placed using STH 92, US 14 and Janesville Street.

Please see the Dane County website for maps showing traffic patterns and the Phase 2 detour:   https://www.countyofdane.com/pwht/hw_engineer/projects.aspx
