Three Year $2.4 Million Project Will Reconstruct Two Busy County Roads in Oregon
MADISON-Today Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced a three year project with the Village of Oregon which will begin in 2017 to reconstruct MM and CC in Oregon to make county roads safer. Together the three phases of the project will cost $2,470,000 and will be split 50/50 by the Village and the County. At the conclusion of the work the Village of Oregon will be responsible for the roadway including snow removal, maintenance of traffic signals, road painting, and road maintenance.
“This partnership is a needed investment into our infrastructure that will make our roads safer,” said Dane County Executive Joe Parisi. “The agreement is a common sense approach to streamline and improve services. I am happy to once again team up with the Village of Oregon to improve infrastructure.”
“The street projects that the Village has planned for 2017 would not be happening if not for the cooperation of Dane County staff,” said Village President Steve Staton. “The Village of Oregon and Dane County have a history of working together to solve problems as well as improving infrastructure for our residents. In the past few years joint projects have included storm water mitigation, a major bike trail, and downtown redevelopment.”
