Best Ever Passenger Traffic Year In Airport History

 

Madison, WI – The Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA) marked its best year of passenger traffic numbers in history with traffic surging 9.8 percent compared to 2015. In 2016, 929,845 passengers flew out of Madison, for a total passenger traffic of 1,841,809. The airport’s second best year was in 2004 with 847,341 enplaned passengers.

 

"Increased passenger traffic is a testament to Dane County Regional Airport’s high quality and excellent service," said Dane County Executive Joe Parisi. "Continued expansion of service is great for area customers, and a critical part of our efforts to grow our local economy."

 

Airport gift shops, restaurants, and parking operations also reported significant increases in 2016. Increased passenger traffic is a result of a strong local economy and the additional routes and larger aircraft offered by the airlines that serve DCRA.

 

"Madison customers can enjoy upgraded service to twelve major airline hubs," said Bradley Livingston, AAE, Airport Director. "Flights to these key hubs mean convenient one-stop service to worldwide destinations for south central Wisconsin. Continued passenger growth will help to expand our portfolio of options for our travelers."
