Special Election To Be Set for District 16 County Supervisory Seat

Dane County Board Chair Sharon Corrigan today announced that a special election for Dane County Board of Supervisors District 16, which includes wards  in east Madison, the Town of Blooming Grove, and the Village of McFarland, will be set by the County Board for Tuesday, June 13, 2017, to replace Supervisor Dave de Felice who resigned from the Board earlier this month.

 

Once the County Board orders a special election at their meeting on Thursday evening, candidates may begin circulating nomination papers on Friday, April 7 and must file those papers, with at least 50 but not more than 200 valid signatures, by 5 pm on Tuesday, April 18. All forms for potential candidates are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Room 106A, 210 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Madison.

 

If there are three or more candidates, a special primary will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, with the top two candidates facing off in a general election on June 13th.

 

District 16 encompasses 14 wards in the City of Madison, two wards in the Town of Blooming Grove, and one ward in the Village of McFarland.. A map is available here: https://board.countyofdane.com/Districts/Map/16
