Emergency Management
Dane County Emergency Management is hosting the National Weather Service’s Severe Weather Spotter Class on Monday March 19, 2018. It will be offered twice, from 1-3 pm and again from 6:30-8:30pm at the Alliant Energy Center’s Exposition Hall (1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI 53713). These classes are FREE of charge and no registration is required.
Severe weather is the most prevalent hazard in Dane County. Being prepared for severe weather includes not only learning about what is in the skies, but taking action to prepare your household before severe weather strikes. One of these actions should include learning about Dane County’s warning system and sign up for specific Dane County’s alerts at https://em.countyofdane.com/warning/default.aspx.
Dane County’s Executive Joe Parisi said “As our weather becomes more volatile, increasing your knowledge of severe weather is a critical step to increasing your safety. This class will help residents get a better handle on how to prepare when the National Weather Service issues advisories, watches, and warnings.”
