Madison, WI – The Dane County Regional Airport is pleased to announce that it is the winner of the best small airport food & beverage program. The awards were announced during a gala dinner at the 2017 Airport Council International- North America (ACI-NA) Business of Airports Conference in Palm Springs, CA.
"Our airport continues to provide an exceptional experience," said Dane County Executive Joe Parisi. "This is another example of the impressive amenities we offer our visitors and routine passengers.
To menus featuring fresh, locally grown, sustainable fare from a nationally acclaimed chef, the result is an authentic Wisconsin experience that no other airport can replicate. The new concessions offer a memorable full-service "gastropub," a much-lauded local coffee roaster, Wisconsin-inspired shopping, and grab-and-go food from a grocer who has served the local area for nearly a century; this artful melding of diverse tastes and goods offers travelers a world-class experience with a uniquely Wisconsin flavor.
Bradley S. Livingston, AAE, Airport Director said, "The achievement of a national airport award bolsters our commitment to providing a world-class airport experience."
"The ACI-NA Excellence in Airport Concessions Awards recognizes the most innovative and outstanding airport concessions," said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. "Dane County Regional Airport is a great example of the impressive work airports are doing to improve the passenger experience."
Dane County Regional Airport set its sights high – aiming to transform air travel from a stressful hassle into a gracious and memorable experience.
SSP America Chief Executive Officer Michael Svagdis commented, "SSP America is incredibly honored to be part of the Dane County Regional Airport’s success in developing a food & beverage program that so perfectly delivers a locally inspired ‘taste of place’ to Airport passengers. We, now, turn our sights on ensuring the portfolio is an award-winning one for many years to come."
