7 AM Flooding Update – Dane County Emergency Management

County Executive
County Executive Joe Parisi will declare a state of emergency this morning following last night’s record rains and ongoing flooding affecting Dane County.
Significant flooding is ongoing in the Black Earth, Mazomanie, and Cross Plains areas! Water remains over a number of roads and dozens of water rescues were performed by emergency responders overnight.
Reverse 911 was used to help evacuate a significant portion of the Village of Mazomanie this morning due to rising waters. Those living east of Bridge Street and north of Hudson were evacuated to the Mazomanie Village Hall/Fire Station.
Black Earth Creek continues to rise and has already surpassed its previous record high level. The Highway 14 bridge over Black Earth Creek has washed out. The state has closed Highway 14 at Highway 60 in Sauk County. Traffic is being detoured from Highway 14 to Highway 60 to Highway 12.

There are a number of additional street closures on the west side of the City of Madison.
Those with damage are being asked to call 2-1-1.
