Dane County has declared a state of emergency following last night’s record rains and ongoing flooding affecting Dane County.

 

Water rescues are continuing this hour in Mazomanie. Multiple water rescue teams are working to get people from homes into shelter. Approximately 100 people are currently being sheltered at the Mazomanie Fire Station as a result of flooding from Black Earth Creek.

 

As of 945, the following roads remain closed:

 

Highway M in Town of Westport – between Fox Bluff and Signature

 

Hwy 14 bridge west of Black Earth approaches washed out

 

Hwy 14 (Beltline to Mazomanie)

 

CTH KP (Cross Plains to Mazomanie)

 

Hwy F (Hwy 19-Hwy 14)

 

Beltline Ramps closed at Greenway

 

Beltline Ramps closed at Hwy 14

 

Hwy 69 (Riverside to CTH PB)

 

Hwy  78 (CTH A to Green County Line)

Detour:

 

A Detour has been set up in Sauk County detouring traffic from Hwy 14 to Hwy 60 to Hwy 12.

 

Additionally, Dane County is declaring a slow, no wake on Lakes Mendota, Monona, and Waubesa effective immediately. Lakes saw significant rises in water levels overnight.

 

Private property owners with damage are being asked to call 2-1-1.

 

Businesses that have experienced flood damage are encouraged to contact their local unit of government to document those losses in preparation of a possible disaster assistance application.
