Tenney Lock to Close Due to High Lake Levels and Heavy River Flows
MADISON, WI – August 23, 2018 - Dane County will be closing Tenney Lock Thursday, August 23 through Sunday, August 26. The historic rainfall totals earlier this week have resulted in high water in the Yahara chain of lakes and heavy flows in the river which creates unsafe conditions for passage through the lock. Conditions will be reevaluated on Sunday to determine if it is safe to reopen the lock for passage.
Boaters are also reminded that a slow-no-wake restriction is in effect for the entire surface of Lakes Mendota, Monona, Waubesa and Kegonsa.
