MADISON – Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced today that he has selected Kim Jones, Interim Director of the Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA), to serve as the DCRA’s New Director.
“I’m looking forward to working with Kim Jones as the Dane County Regional Airport’s new Director,” said Parisi. “Our airport is the economic gateway to Dane County and the region, and growing in every way, every day. With her deep experience in airport operations and financial administration, I can’t think of a better person to lead our airport during the great times that lie ahead.”
Ms. Jones has worked for the Dane County Regional Airport since 2004, and was named the Dane County Regional Airport’s Deputy Airport Director of Finance and Administration in 2011.
In that position, Ms. Jones was in charge of planning and directing the financial management of the airport’s $27 million operating budget, supervising financial operations, monitoring airport performance, assisting the Airport Director with developing policies, plans, and long-range strategic planning, and developing the airport’s annual operating and capital budgets.
“I’m honored to be selected as the new Director of the Dane County Regional Airport,” said Jones. “The future of our airport is bright, and this is an exciting time to lead – from our growing list of direct flights to top destinations across the country, to the anticipated expansion of our terminal.”
Ms. Jones, a native of Iowa, has over 30 years of experience in financial administration roles, including at the Des Moines International Airport, before coming to Dane County. She resides in Sun Prairie with her husband, is an avid traveler, and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
Ms. Jones’ confirmation as Airport Director is pending final approval by the Dane County Board.
