1:00 PM Flooding Update – Dane County Emergency Management

Dane County is under a state of emergency following last night’s record rains and ongoing flooding affecting Dane County. A copy of the state of emergency declaration is attached.
Water rescue teams are continuing to work in the Mazomanie area. Three teams with boats are checking on affected residences. A significant portion of the village has been damaged by floodwaters. Dane County’s Emergency Operations Center is coordinating with the Red Cross and other community partners on establishing shelters. Information on the location of those shelters will be released when it is available.

Detour:
A Detour has been set up in Sauk County detouring traffic from Hwy 14 to Hwy 60 to Hwy 12.
Slow, no wake orders are now in effect on Lakes Mendota, Monona, and Waubesa. Lakes saw significant rises in water levels overnight and will continue to rise in the coming days.
Private property owners with damage are being asked to call 2-1-1.
Businesses that have experienced flood damage are encouraged to contact their local unit of government to document those losses in preparation of a possible disaster assistance application.
